Radhika Kumaraswarmy was born in Mangalore, Karnataka, India in November of 1986. She is now 32 and seems to have taken a break from acting from 2015-2019, but she is appearing in multiple pieces this year. She is a film actress and a producer.
She seems to favour Kannada films, and she was considered to be a lead actress in that industry in the early 2000s. Her first movie was Neela Megha Sharma in 2002, just after she had completed her ninth class.
She then starred in two incredibly successful films, Ninagagi and Tavariige Baa Tangi. In 2003, she managed to get roles in five different films from the Kannada industry, including Mani, where she was a prostitutes daughter. Sadly, there were some box office busts, like Tayi Illada Tabbali and Mane Magalu, both of which were considered failures.
Despite this, Radhika still managed to get the Karnatak State Film Award for Best Actress. After her successes in Kannada films, she moved to Tamil films. She managed to act in five Tamil cinema movies one after another. From then on, she switched back and forth between Kannada and Tamil cinema freely. She was praised for her performances in the films as her acting career blossomed.

She took her first hiatus from the film in 2008, taking five years to herself. She returned in 2013 to produce and act in Sweety Nanna Jodi, which was well received. After roles in Avatharam and Rudra Tandava, she took another hiatus, for four years this time. She has five films filming in 2019.
However, so it doesn’t look like she is planning on stopping. She is currently married to H.D. Kumaraswary, who is the Chief Minister of Karnataka, who she has been with since 2006. She has a child with him, Shamika, her daughter.
